• 2010 - Proposal of New Parliament came (Speaker Meira Kumar set up a committee in 2012)
• September 2019 - Indian Government launched Central Vista Redevelopment Project
• 1st October 2020 - Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction was held
• 10th December 2020 - Bhumi Pujan/Foundation Stones was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (The laying of the foundation stone was allowed a bench led by Justice A.M. Khanwilker of the Supreme Court of India )
• January 2021 - The Project was cleared in a majority judgement of the Supreme Court
• 28th May 2023 - Inaugurated by Narendra Modi 
• 19th September 2023 - Parliament Session will start in the New Parliament
• 20th September 2023 - Regular Government work will start

• Ground Area - 65,000 meter square (700,000 sqft)
• Built Area - 20,866 sq meter (224,60 sqft) - Including it open sky area of 2,000 sq meter (22000 sqft) for a Banyan Tree

Parliamentary House has three entrance -

• Gyan Dwar (Knowledge gate)
• Shakti Dwar (Power gate)
• Karma Dwar (Karma gate)

Six guardian statues that man the three entrance - Gaja, Ashwa, Garuda, Makar, Shardula & Hams

Foucault Pendulum - 

• Suspended from the ceiling of the Central Foyer
• Created by - National Council of Science Museum (NCSM) in Kolkata
• 22 meters - Standings at a towering height
• Weight - 36 Kg

The gallery Shilp Deergha (Craft gallery) was conceptualised with eight themes -

Sengol

• Gold plated Silver sceptre installed in India New Parliament House by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
• Height of Sengol - 5 feet (1.5 meter) and it has a Nandi carved on the top & it belong to Chole Empire
• 14th August 1947 - Gifted to Jawaharlal Nehru (First Prime Minister of India) by a delegation of holy men from the "Adheenam Monastery"
• From Tanjor (South India) came two emissaries of Sri Amblavana Desigar (Head of the Hindu Ascetic)
• The sengol was housed in Allahabad Museum, labelled as a Golden Stick gifted to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
• 4th November 2022 - National Museum, New Delhi
• Sengol as a symbol of the transfer of power from the British region onto India

• Adoption of the Lion Capital of Ashoka (ancient sculpture during 280 BCE, Maurya Empire) - erected at the Sarnath

National Emblem on a New Parliament

• 11th July 2022 - A statue of the country National Emblem is unveiled on the top of the New Parliament Building
• National Emblem is cast at the top of the Central Foyer of the New Parliament Building
• Height - 6.5 meter made of Bronze
• Weight - 9500 kg
• Designed by - Sunil Deore & Laxman Vyas
• The bronze structure has a supporting structure of steel weighting around 6,500 kg
